Williams, who was part of the team that won gold at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, triumphed with skating
partner Katie Stainsby after the result was decided by a combination of judges' scores and studio audience vote.
And after taking the trophy Williams admitted that he nearly turned down the chance to appear in the show.
'I very almost didn't do this,' he told Philip Schofield, 'and the first couple of weeks I fell over hundreds of times.'
However his routine, to the Kings Of Leon hit Use Somebody, proved to be a huge hit with the judges, with the gold medallist dropping just one point out of a possible 30.

The show also featured a special performance on the ice from Robin Cousins, as well as routines from Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dea
